The Ontario Virtual School (OVS) first became a sponsor to the annual State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada report in 2019. A private K-12 e-learning school in Ontario that was originally founded in 2010, OVS proactively contacted the State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada research team to inquire about sponsoring the annual study. OVS provides mastery-based high school courses taught by Ontario certified teachers to over 3,000 students. The State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada research team was pleased for their continued support for the 2020 annual report.
