Following the publication of the 2012 annual State of the Nation: K-12 Online Learning in Canada report, the research team began seeking a new foundational partner for the project. Founded in 2014 as a national non-profit, the Canadian eLearning Network (CANeLearn) was accepted as the project’s foundational partner prior to the release of the 2014 annual State of the Nation: K-12 Online Learning in Canada report. That same year CANeLearn‘s Chief Executive Officer, Randy LaBonte, was added as a contributing author of the annual report.
CANeLearn has remained a project partner since 2014. To reflect both the expanding nature of the field and the new partnership with CANeLearn the 2015 annual report was renamed the State of the Nation: K-12 e-Learning in Canada.
