Torrey Trust Co-authors Report Examining Types of Remote Learning
January 14, 2021Torrey Trust, associate professor of learning technology in the College of Education’s department of teacher education and curriculum studies, Michael K. Barbour, Randy LaBonte, Kevin Kelly, Charles Hodges, Stephanie Moore, Barb Lockee, Aaron Bond, and Phil Hill co-authored a special report as part of the State of the Nation: K-12 E-Learning in Canada project titled, “Understanding Pandemic Pedagogy: Differences Between Emergency Remote, Remote, and Online Teaching.” The special report provides a look at Canada’s K-12 response to the pandemic, a discussion of the difference between the emergency remote teaching that has happened during the COVID-19 pandemic and traditional online/remote teaching, and recommendations for improving teacher preparation and K-12 education based on what was learned during the pandemic.
